Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in a fast paced Cafe style environment. As a Assistant Kitchen manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef/Owner in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

The cuisine: Paninis, Steaks, Pasta dishes, Brunch, Breakfast, Salads

Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and staff supervision.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Cooking on the line
  • Maintain inventory control by tracking supplies and placing orders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
  • Participate in catering events and banquet services as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment.
Skills

  • Proven experience in the food industry with a focus on culinary excellence.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Experience in menu planning, food service management, and restaurant management.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and control processes.
  • Familiarity with dietary department practices and food safety regulations.
  • Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
